 Q: Name, hometown, major/minor:
My name is Caitlyn, and I’m from Hartland, Wisconsin, a town right outside of Milwaukee. I’m a sophomore majoring in public relations, and I have a minor in Event Planning.

Q: How long have you been a member of PRSSA?:
I’ve been a PRSSA member for a year and a half!

Q: What do you enjoy most about being on the board?
As the Vice President of Fundraising and Community Outreach, I enjoy being able to help our chapter grow through fundraising. Through events I’ve led, like the Homecoming Silent Auction, we raised over $2000 for our chapter, which is a huge accomplishment! Being able to assist our chapter through this position has been such a rewarding experience.

Q: What are your hobbies outside of work/school?
I’m a big outdoors girl, my friends always tease me for how much I love going on walks, but I have to get outdoors every day. Whether it’s a short 45-minute walk during the winter or a six-mile walk on a sunny day, I enjoy them equally! Besides the outdoors, I love curating my Spotify and Pinterest, just enjoying media that connects to my personality.

Q: Favorite movie and why?
This is such a great question because I love movies. I’m the girl who logs everything I watch on Letterboxd. I’d tell you my top four, but I think my all-time favorite would be La La Land. Just the idea that loving someone is never a waste, no matter how short or long a relationship is. Love still serves a purpose, and sometimes, the absence of love helps us grow in ways we didn’t know we needed. That’s some of the messages the movie plays into.

Q: Name, hometown, major/minor
A: My name is Lara, I am from Basel, Switzerland, and I am an Emerging Media and Technology graduate student.

Q: How long have you been a member of PRSSA?
A: I’ve been a member of PRSSA for a year.
Q: What do you enjoy most about being on the board?
A: As the website manager, I love having the creative freedom to design what our website displays and seeing how everything works behind the scenes. Collaborating with others and gaining insight into different roles has made me appreciate all the effort that goes into maintaining this organization. Being part of a team that works together to achieve our goals is incredibly rewarding.

Q: What are your hobbies outside of work/school?
A: I love changing up my hobbies frequently to keep things exciting. This fall, I took an eight-week horse riding course, and now I'm focusing on getting into a gym routine. I also enjoy eating out with friends, doing seasonal activities like fairs or haunted houses or just relaxing at home with a good movie. Traveling is another passion of mine whenever I get the chance. I used to play the piano for over 10 years, which is something I like to pick up again every once in a while.

Q: What is your dream company/role and why?
A: I don't have a specific dream company or role because I see my career as fluid, much like how I approach my hobbies. I would love to dive deep into a topic for a few years at a company and then shift to something related but slightly different. While I'm currently interested in a digital marketing career in healthcare, I would enjoy working in digital marketing in any industry if I can truly immerse myself in it.

Q: Favorite movie and why?
A: My favorite movies are “Ferris Bueller's Day Off” and "The Holiday,” with “Gremlins" coming in close. I just love the charm of 80s films! And yes, I know “The Holiday” isn't from the 80s, but with Cameron Diaz, Jack Black, Kate Winslet and Jude Law all in one movie—come on, how could I not love it?

Q: What is your name, where is your hometown, and what are you studying?
A: My name is Tanner, I am from Mechanicsvillie, Virginia, and I am a PR major.

Q: How long have you been a member of PRSSA?
A: I’ve been a member of PRSSA for 3 years!

Q: What do you enjoy most about being on the board?
A: As VP of Professional Relations, I love planning meetings that are relevant and interesting to students. I also love getting to meet everyone who comes to our meetings and growing closer to the board members.

Q: What are your hobbies outside of work/school?
A: When I’m not doing school, I love baking. Though I don’t have a huge sweet tooth, I love getting to bake treats and share them with my friends. I enjoy hiking, especially in the Cuyahoga National Park, or trying a new coffee shop. When I have the time, I also love getting cozy on my couch with a cup of tea and a good book!

Q: What is your dream company/role and why?
A: My dream role would be working in the communications department for a Formula 1 team! I find the fan engagement, media relations and owned media aspect that every team does to keep their audiences engaged and informed very interesting. It would be so cool to be part of the team that brainstorms the social media content, newsroom content and more.

Q: Favorite movie and why?
A: One of my favorite movies is “Breakfast at Tiffany's.” It’s been my favorite movie for a while, and I love the simplicity of the movie and how it just follows the life of the main character, Holly Golightly. It’s a perfect movie for fall, in my opinion!

Macy Rosen
Hi everyone,

I hope you all had an awesome summer and your semester is treating you even better. My name is Macy Rosen, and I’m ecstatic to serve as your PRSSA Kent President this semester.
I’m a senior public relations major with a minor in journalism, and I graduate in December.
I’ve been involved in PRSSA for the past four years, and I’ve made invaluable connections with students, professors and professionals. I cannot begin to express how important PRSSA has been in my college journey. This organization has been a key driver in my professional and personal success and has allowed me to practice myriad skills in real-world settings.

I’m excited to meet you all, and I hope you stick around for the rest of the year. Tanner Poe, our VP of Professional Relations, has worked very hard to recruit speakers from across the PR industry, from fashion PR to the Greater Cleveland Film Commission. I can assure you that no matter what field you’re interested in, you’ll find value in PRSSA.

We’d love for you to join us in promoting the chapter and upcoming meetings if you’re interested. If you’d like to get more involved or grab a coffee and learn more about how PRSSA Kent can help you achieve your professional goals, email me at [email protected]. As a senior, I’m also more than happy to share advice about classes, internships or anything else.

I’m so happy you’re here, and I can't wait to see what the semester has in store!

All my best,
Macy
