Tell us about your experience studying PR at Kent State:
It has been the experience of a lifetime. I have never worked with people with so much passion before coming to Kent. PRKent has given me some of the most important relationships in my life. From working on the National Organ Donor Awareness Campaign as a freshman, to my senior capstone, Campaigns, the experiences this program offers are invaluable. And I could never forget, the professors in this program are nothing short of incredible and all have a common goal of their students' success.
Tell us about your career goals:
I'm definitely not sure where I am going to end up post-graduation but I have always been interested in corporate communications. I think working for a big corporation/industry gives you the opportunity to make big change. From sustainability efforts to how a brand values their employees and customers, PR plays a role in doing good; and that's what I want to do! One day, I hope to run my own business.
How has this scholarship helped you?
This scholarship not only reassured me hard work pays off, but helped lessen the burden of tuition and housing payments! I will be forever grateful.

Tell us about your experience studying PR at Kent State: I have learned so much from the amazing faculty in the PR sequence here at Kent State. The PRKent family truly operates as a family; I have found so much support from alumni during my time at Kent! As a 2019 Bateman participant, I was given the opportunity to plan and implement an entire public relations campaign. This hands-on experience helped me to not only learn more about strategic planning, but network with professionals in the field who have a passion for diversity and inclusion initiatives. I have been inspired by my peers during courses, and the incredible amount of opportunities to develop yourself as a professional help give you guidance as you apply for internships and jobs.
Tell us about your career goals
In the future, I hope to find employment with a PR agency in the Greater Cleveland area. I want to focus on lifestyle PR and supporting small business and businesses run by female entrepreneurs. If we are talking big picture, then I definitely see myself making the switch to nonprofit PR someday. I want to be sure that I am using my skills to help tell the stories of those who have been silenced.
How has this scholarship helped you?
This scholarship helped ease the financial burden of my last semester of college for both me and my family. This scholarship was a huge honor!
