PRSSA Kent officers share their experiences working at internships and on-campus. Interning and working at Flash Communications or The Tannery gives students the hands-on experience they need to stand out and succeed in their future careers.
Christine Morgan, PRSSA Kent President, shares what it’s like to intern at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio. “I am so thankful for my internship at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Press releases from all over the world cross my desk each day. Whether it's Romania, China, New Zealand or Brazil, my boss trusts me to edit each news item and post it to our global intranet news site, Goodyear Online (GO). I've worked in the Global Communications department at Goodyear for nearly two years. During my time there, I've also prepared newsletters distributed to 25,000 U.S. associates and created a Prezi presentation for an audience of 70,000 global associates.” PRSSA Kent Online Media Manager Ryan Collins loves his internship at AKHIA. “Interning at AKHIA Public Relations has taught me so much about social media marketing and how to work in an agency setting. I'm happy to come to work every day because I love what I do. I'm learning valuable skills because of this internship.” Taylor Titus, VP of Professional Relations, gained great experience working at The Tannery and Flash Communications. “Working at The Tannery gave me the best hands-on experience as to what it would be like to work at an agency. I was able to collaborate with different departments and really experience the agency atmosphere. Flash Communications has really helped improved my writing and interviewing skills.” Professors Luke Armour, Evan Bailey, Michele Ewing and PRSSA officers will be speaking Wednesday evening at our next meeting! Find out how you can get involved on-campus at Flash Communications, The Tannery and more. We will be in room 213 at 7:30 p.m. in Franklin Hall.
